Latin American Technical, Research and Administrative Leaders

The “Latin American Technical, Research and Administrative Leaders” (LATeRAL) program will develop faculty, corporate, entrepreneurial and community leaders ready to meet Latin America’s innovation, research, education and commercialization challenges. LATeRAL includes focused graduate degrees with professional development and networking experiences. The program is a key part of Purdue University’s commitment to partnerships with universities, companies and agencies to foster transformations in society, research, technology and education. Strategic member institutions can join with Purdue in developing these leaders and providing opportunities for their careers. The program provides a focal point for regional institution-company-government connections and promotes a culture of globalization.

For Universities:

Purdue is committed to developing partnerships that address the goals of your institution and that build on the strengths of programs at both institutions. Whether your institution has well established PhD/research programs or is early in the process of defining these programs, there are partnership opportunities related to defining and implementing programs for developing future faculty and corporate researchers.

For Companies:

Partner companies represent an important component of LATeRAL, with potential partnership activities addressing development of corporate technical/administrative leaders, research/commercialization programs and public/private partnerships. Rather than membership fees, member companies are invited to support the program through "in-kind" contributions that advance the company's goals as well as LATeRAL activities, including sponsoring employees or top students from local institutions, participation in professional development activities and research/commercialization interactions with Purdue and businesses in Indiana.

For Agencies/Foundations:

Partner agencies may sponsor the graduate programs of potential future faculty or corporate scientists/administrative leaders. The partnerships established with institutions and companies in the region will foster transitions to productive careers in the home country.
